We’re surrounded by some of the most beautiful, undiscovered countryside around and are a short stroll from an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Caistor is also very proud to have been awarded Walkers are Welcome status and you only have to have a little potter to see why.

 


 

Short Walks

WALKABOUT CAISTOR (1.6 miles)

Caistor Walkabout is designed to take you around the town to see sites and places that are considered to be of most interest to visitors. Along the way, there will be various places for you to stop off and eat, or just sit down and enjoy the surroundings.

WOLDS WALKS – In Ore of Our Past (5 miles)

This walk passes through an area that was, until just a few decades ago, one of the most industrial parts of the Wolds. Today the Nettleton Valley is a grassy picturesque place, and from the top there are fine views towards the River Trent and Lincoln.

Long Walks

NETTLETON – MARKET RASEN (7.75 miles)

An interesting walk at the foot of the Wolds, mainly on tracks, paths and quiet lanes. Go through woodland and the attractive village of Claxby before reaching Nettleton.

THE CAISTOR CHALLENGE (25 miles)

Dare you take on the Caistor Challenge? This 25 mile circular walk includes scenic views of the Lincolnshire Wolds and passes eight villages and churches.

The Butter Market Walk (approx. 45 minutes)

The Town Trail (approx. 2 hours)
A fascinating tour through the Town’s Conservation Area. Learn about  the secrets of the Tower of Caistor. Walk down Lucy’s Lane, see the Roman Wall, the Home Guard H.Q. and much much more.
